Cottages for rent in Eastern Townships

Chalets for rent between the Appalachians and the vineyards — Magog, Bromont, Sutton, Lac-Brome. The polished side of rural Quebec.

The Eastern Townships — *Estrie* in French — stretch the Appalachian range along the Vermont border. The region's signature: glacial lakes (Memphrémagog, Brome, Massawippi), vineyards (22 producers on the Wine Route), and a serious culinary scene. Quieter than the Laurentians, closer to Montreal than Charlevoix.

Our chalets for rent in the Eastern Townships cluster around Magog–Orford, Bromont, Sutton and Lac-Brome. Many are converted farmhouses or contemporary country homes with mountain views. Proximity to vineyards and great restaurants makes this a favorite for couples and food-focused weekends.

In winter, Bromont and Sutton offer night skiing under an hour from Montreal — often less crowded than Tremblant, just as accessible. Book direct, local concierge, CITQ permits on file.

FAQ

Renting a cottage in Eastern Townships

How much does a chalet in the Eastern Townships cost?
The Townships are great value — expect $200 to $700/night depending on property and season. Median rate is $350/night, about 20% less than the Laurentians at comparable quality. Fall weekends (harvest, colors) and ski season carry the highest pricing.
What's the difference between Estrie and Eastern Townships?
None — two names for the same region. "Eastern Townships" is the historic name from the Loyalist colonial settlement. "Estrie" is the official administrative name adopted in 1981. Both are used locally.
Are there chalets near the vineyards?
Yes — the densest cluster of wineries is between Dunham, Stanbridge and Frelighsburg, 15–30 minutes from Bromont and Sutton. Several of our chalets in that zone are walking distance to at least one estate. Filter by Estrie in the catalog.
Can you ski both Bromont and Sutton in one weekend?
Yes — they're 35 minutes apart. Many visitors stay in Bromont (livelier après-ski) and spend a day at Sutton (glades, more technical terrain). A *Ski Cantons-de-l'Est* pass covers both.
Is the Eastern Townships good for couples?
It's probably our most-requested region for couples — inn-restaurants, vineyards, spas, calm lakes. One- and two-bedroom chalets on Lac Brome or Lac Massawippi are particularly popular for romantic getaways.
