Charlevoix is where the Laurentian range plunges into the St. Lawrence. A UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, the region packs into 6,000 km² everything Quebec does best: sheer mountains, valleys carved by a 350-million-year-old meteor crater, and a river so wide it becomes an estuary 25 km across.

Our chalets for rent in Charlevoix cluster around Petite-Rivière-Saint-François (at the foot of Le Massif), Baie-Saint-Paul (the region's cultural capital) and La Malbaie (Manoir Richelieu, Casino, golf). Many offer direct river views, a nordic hot tub under the stars, and minutes-away access to Le Massif's trails.

Charlevoix draws a discerning crowd — food enthusiasts, art collectors, off-piste skiers — and the quality of our portfolio reflects that. Book direct with local concierge, every CITQ permit on file.

FAQ

Renting a cottage in Charlevoix

How much does a chalet in Charlevoix cost?
Charlevoix sits at the higher end — expect $350 to $1,500/night depending on season and property. Median rate is around $525/night. Chalets with direct river views are the most coveted, especially in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François during ski season.
Should I stay in Baie-Saint-Paul or La Malbaie?
Baie-Saint-Paul for galleries, restaurants and microbreweries — more lively. La Malbaie for the Manoir Richelieu, Casino, golf and a quieter setting. Petite-Rivière-Saint-François for ski access. All three are 30–45 minutes apart by car.
When can I see whales from Charlevoix?
Cruise season runs late May to mid-October. Best sightings in July, August and September. Tadoussac is 1 hour from La Malbaie (ferry included).
Are there ski-in/ski-out chalets at Le Massif?
A few — Le Massif doesn't have Tremblant's resort development, but we have several chalets within 5–10 minutes of the lifts in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François. Filter by ski access in the catalog.
Is Charlevoix suitable for a long weekend?
Yes, but it's a 4 h 30 drive from Montreal — a 2-night weekend leaves little time on the ground. Three nights minimum is recommended. From Quebec City the distance is much more reasonable (1 h 15 to 1 h 45).
